Scotty George earned a B.A. in business from Christopher Newport University. Scotty is the son of local waterman, David George, and has more than 25 years of experience working on the bay and the rivers. Scotty brought his knowledge of coastal systems and education to lead Docks of the Bay as a General Contractor and project manager. He is the father of two and married to Megan George who teaches third grade at Lancaster Primary School. With two young children, three seafood companies, the Lancaster High School baseball coach, and a nationally recognized softball team, Scotty still finds time to work from sun up to sun down ensuring every project is running smoothly and to the standards he set and has enforced since Docks of the Bay’s inception in 2003.
DOCKS OF THE BAY is a leading marine construction company in Irvington, Virginia. We work with builders, developers, and homeowners throughout Virginia’s Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. All of our staff grew up on and around the water.
“The fact the you identified an issue early on that needed special attention and were willing to take that extra time to work through the various options was indeed refreshing. I know that every time we go down to the dock, we will recall this personal attention of yours to ‘doing it right.”- Kenneth and Peggy T., Homeowners
“I’ve worked in many marinas around the world. From my perspective, Docks on the Bay has a super work ethic and provides good quality, safe marine work. Perhaps most important, they understand the marine industry and have the equipment and manpower to respond, mobilize and get the job done.”- Dave G., Manager, Windmill Point Marina
